All of the music was composed in the summer of 2025 for solo piano or piano three hands. ‘For Roger Penrose’ is dedicated to the eminent Nobel Prize winning physicist, composed for piano three hands. ‘On Shifting Sands’ is a bit unusual as there is no constant pulse, giving a rather uneven unsettled feel to the piece. ‘For Camillo’ is dedicated to my father-in-law Camillo Paoletti and composed using a whole tone scale of C, D, E, F sharp, G sharp & A sharp (the piece was composed so Camillo can play along with it as using any of those notes should sound fine). ‘Picture Window’ uses a constant three against two pattern throughout. ‘Remembering Forgotten Dreams’ has a constant repeating rhythmic pattern in seven four in the left hand. ‘The Unknown Paradox’ was composed for piano three hands in five four, but with the top part generally playing in three four.
